In this workshop you will create your stained glass mosaic on a walled square pre-primed substrate.
Learn:
- to score and break glass
- cut straight lines and simple curves
- use Sticky Mesh to transfer your design to glass
- how to grout your piece with Cementitious Grout
Class fee includes:
- Use of workshop tools
- Substrates, glues, glass and grout
- personal instruction
- a set of reference notes to keep and

Students to bring:
- Apron – full body coverage. You can purchase one here (https://merlinmosaica.com/product/merlin-mosaica-full-apron/) and I will have it available for you on the day.
- pen and paper to take notes
- covered water bottle – keep hydrated and protect against flying chips
- camera – most phone cameras should suffice. It helps to know how to convert your image to black & white
- safety glasses – If you don’t own a pair, you can purchase them here (https://merlinmosaica.com/product/ultralite-wraparound-safety-glasses/) and I will have them ready for you
- P2/N95 mask – for grouting
- lunch (full kitchen facilities available for your use)
Timetable:
- Day One (10am – 3pm): I demonstrate how to score and break glass, and use the tools. You will learn to work with sticky mesh to transfer your design and create a piece ready to grout the following morning.
- Day Two (9:30am – 11am): Come back to grout your mosaic! Share morning tea with another class.
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior, so we can kick off on time. Time to grab a coffee before the class!
Notes:
Students to wear closed toe shoes and old clothes.
I will be running a tile cutting course the following day, so there will be other people in the studio. You can share a cuppa with them once you have grouted.
Cancellation policy:
In the unlikely event that I have to cancel, I will issue a full refund.
If you cancel more than 7 days prior to the event, I will refund total cost, less any fees (Evenbrite).
Within 7 days of the course, I will refund 50% course cost less any fees (Evenbrite).
