Do a mosaic workshop – have fun, meet people, have a chat, and create a piece to keep

Bring some friends, or just come along and learn something new. This is a great class to do with a group of friends! 

This workshop is ideal for those who are just starting out in mosaics, and would like to make something other than a flat stepping stone.

Create your own attractive mosaiced pot for the garden. I provide a great selection of glass tiles in a multipe colours, sizes and textures, and can give you ideas on designs that work well on the pots, or you can work on your own. Only limited by your imagination! These pots are a functional introduction to mosaics. Students will learn how to achieve a design using different sized tesserae while still having a pleasing symmetry or alignment.

• No previous experience necessary.
• No cutting required (or maybe just a little bit!).
• Learn the clean way to use a polymer adhesive.
• If you don’t get yours finished, I will demonstrate the grouting process, and give you grout to take away to finish at home (the glue needs to dry first).

Alternatively, for a fee, I can grout your piece for you for collect later (by arrangement).

Class fee includes:

• all materials
• use of tools on the day
• personal instruction
• a set of reference notes to keep
• light refreshments

Students to bring:

• Apron – full body coverage
• Pen and paper to take notes
• covered water bottle – keep hydrated and protect against flying chips
• Camera – most phone cameras should suffice. It helps to know how to convert your image to black & white
• N95 mask for use whilst mixing the grout
• Safety glasses – If you don’t own a pair, you can purchase them here (https://merlinmosaica.com/product/ultralite-wraparound-safety-glasses/) and I will have them ready for you
• Lunch (a full kitchen facilities available for your use)

Notes:

Students to wear closed toe shoes and old clothes.

Course runs between 10am and 2pm. Please arrive 15 minutes prior, so we can kick off on time. Time to grab a coffee before the class!

Cancellation policy:

• In the unlikely event that I have to cancel, I will issue a full refund.
• If you cancel more than 5 days prior to the event, I will refund 75% course cost less any fees (Afterpay/Credit Card/Eventbrite).
• Within 5 days of the course, no orefund is payable.
• If you wish to transfer to another class, I can do that at no additional cost. You would only have to pay the balance if the costs are different.
