This workshop is ideal for those who are just starting out in mosaics, but have not ventured further! It is a fabulous starting point for those who want to get involved, or just want to experiment. The workshop covers everything you need to know to create a mosaic that will last: safety, tools, types of materials, substrates and adhesives suitable for both interior and exterior mosaics, mosaic design, and basic terminology.

During this workshop you will create a small piece to your own design (or you can copy one of mine). I provide a selection of glass tiles to shape, glue, grout and clean.  You will take home a completed piece.

• No experience is necessary – just heaps of enthusiasm, and a sense of fun!

Class fee includes:

• all materials

• a set of reference notes to keep and
• light refreshments.

Students to bring:

• Apron – full body coverage
• Pen and paper to take notes
• covered water bottle – keep hydrated and protect against flying chips
• Camera – most phone cameras should suffice. It helps to know how to convert your image to black & white
• Safety glasses – If you don’t own a pair, you can purchase them here and I will have them ready for you
• P2/N95 mask – If you don’t own one, you can purchase one here (https://merlinmosaica.com/product/p2-respirator-mask/) and I will have it ready for you
• Lunch (full kitchen facilities available for your use)

Notes:

Students to wear closed toe shoes and old clothes.

This workshop runs between 10am and 3pm. Please arrive 15 minutes prior, so we can kick off on time.

Cancellation policy:

• In the unlikely event that I have to cancel, I will issue a full refund.
• If you cancel more than 7 days prior to the event, I will refund total cost, less any fees (Afterpay/Credit Card/Eventbrite).
• Within 7 days of the course, I will refund 50% course cost less any fees (Afterpay/Credit Card/Eventbrite).
• If you wish to transfer to another class, I can do that at no additional cost. You would only have to pay the balance if the costs are different.
