Description

Laser-cut scripted words!  Hosting a function, and wanting something special on your table?

  • Please email a clear, black and white photograph of the required design to info@merlinmosaica.com using your order number as a reference.
  • As these shapes are made to order, please allow a week to fabricate.  If you want them more quickly, we reserve the right to charge a Rush fee
  • Shapes are covered with a protective paper film on both sides to protect from scratching.
  • Shapes are priced on the final dimension – typically the largest dimension (which could be from left to right (rather than top to bottom)
  • Thickness is 3mm.
  • A design fee is payable
  • You choose the script, the size and the material. We cut from Acrylic – colour options are clear, white, black, gold mirror, rose gold mirror, or gold glitter.
  • The photo shows a recent project:
    • Script is Pinyon Script (bold).
    • The client requested a max. height of 250mm. Using that, the length came out at 960mm for the largest word (Kristina)

To build your Suncatcher:

  1. First, select an acrylic shape (they are available here)
    • These  are made of 3mm or 4.5mm clear acrylic (also known as Perspex).
    • You can choose to have a top hole, a bottom hole, or both.
    • You can use some of your own stash to decorate them, or use stained glass or beads – the choice is yours!
  2. Remove the protective paper on one side, and glue your tesserae on with a weatherproof, clear-drying adhesive. I recommend Prep Multi-use adhesive.
    • TIP: you can draw a design on the protective paper on the BACK side of your piece with a sharpie. Remember, it will appear in reverse from the front.
    • Make sure you leave your hanging hole clear.
  3. Use our Suncatcher wire, thread on some Tail beads, and add a tail weight
  4. Use Crimp beads to make the hanging loops, and secure the beads
  5. Squeeze the beads onto your selected wire with a pair of crimping pliers
  6. Attach a swivel & hook – I have a few different choices:
  7. Voila!

You can use No Days Adhesive film with Acrylic sheets in the oven. This video is from America, so the temps have to be adjusted – 260°F is roughly equivalent to 120°C.

I am currently shipping orders on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays.

I operate this business without assistance.  Whilst I DO endeavour to ship as soon as I possibly can, I cannot guarantee to ship out the same day as the order is received.

  • – 5 full sheets (10 half sheets) fit into one Pizza-style box, approx. weight is 3 kilos.
  • – 6-10 full sheets will fit into a large glass box.
  • – 11 full sheets or more will require a shipping quote based on your postcode, as they are NOT standard sizing.
  • – If Express postage is required, please contact me

Postage Unders & Overs:

Some errors may occur in shipping calculations, due to the complexities of combining products in one order.  If you have overpaid shipping I will refund, or issue a credit. If you have underpaid, I will invoice for the difference.  If you feel the postage charge is incorrect – please contact me by phone (most immediate) or email.

No refunds will be given for glass sheets damaged in transit.
I package carefully. However, damage may occur during transit. Product is shipped entirely at your own risk.

International Shipping:

  • – You can now request a Shipping Quote. Please allow a few days to get a response (due to time differences) as these are prepared manually at the end of the business day.
  • – If purchasing from the US, be aware that US Government Tariffs and Postal Clearance fees will be included on your order.  Merlin Mosaica charges a small processing fee. Read more here
  • – Apologies – I do NOT ship glass internationally.
  • – Grouts ship to Australia and New Zealand only.

Free Postage (Australia only) on orders above $250 will NOT apply:

  • – If more than one parcel is required.  I will apply Free Shipping to the most expensive (shipping-wise) parcel.  I will bill you for shipping on other parcel(s) in the order.
  • – If a Seniors/Pension Discount code is used.  Please consider carefully which option presents the best value to you.

Your understanding is appreciated.
