Description

Learn the basics of mosaic using glass tile and/or stained glass. 

A fun social atmosphere.  All tools are provided for student use.  Tea and Coffee available. Beginner friendly, although those with some experience are also most welcome. Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 students, to ensure you get the tuition you need.  The ideal class size is 5 students.  As the numbers can fluctuate from week to week, please phone me before booking initially.

Due to demand, I am opening up Thursday afternoon sessions as well as morning sessions. 

  • THURS mornings – 3 hours from 10:0am-1pm. 
  • THURS afternoons – 3 hours from 1:30pm – 4:30pm.

I will be working alongside you, and am there to discuss project ideas and designs, and guide you in all things mosaic.  You will receive as much tuition as you need or want. Adult students only please.

I will bring your ticket to your first session. 

  • When you purchase a block of tickets, you receive your first substrate for free (these are based on available stock).
  • Work on your own projects – a wall plaque, plant pot, small table, sun catchers, mirrored panels, house signs, pavers, garden rocks, Solar lights etc.
    • Bring a piece you have at home,
    • I do have some substrates available for purchase – all types, it just depends on what I have to hand or
    • Order substrates from me here.  Place an order, and allow a week for fabrication. I will bring it to class for you once it is made.  Learn about using which materials where; tools – how to use & care for them; adhesives; substrates; safety and more.  Work in glass tiles, stained glass or mirror.
  • We can work with ceramic (broken plates etc.,) by arrangement. It is not my preferred material, but I do have some stock that I can bring if required.
  • You may bring your own materials if you wish, although I do prefer that you use my materials.
  • I have a Dremel (for engraving) and a small Grinder available for student use.
  • Seniors discount not applicable for these classes.

Classes are held at The Community House, 33 Prichard Cct, Richardson. There are full kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave etc) available, and the room is air-conditioned and wheelchair friendly.  Off-street parking is available.

Please wear closed-toe shoes, and old clothes. Bring a full-length apron (I do have some for purchase).  A COVERED drink bottle is advised. Bring a working, charged camera or smart-phone.

Single, Block of 5
  • There must be at least 2 students in a session, otherwise the session will be postponed.
  • Sessions are capped at 7 students.
  • Should there not be enough students, or I receive too many bookings, I will contact you to re-schedule.
  • To avoid disappointment, please confirm attendance in advance (at least 24 hours prior).

Classes are aligned with the ACT school year, and will not run through ACT school holidays.

  • 2025 Term 4: 16th Oct – 18 Dec
  • 2026 Term 1: 5th Feb – 2nd April
  • 2026 Term 2: 23rd April – 2nd July
  • 2026 Term 3: 23rd July – 24th Sept
  • 2026 Term 4: 15th Oct – 17th Dec

Fees:

  • A block of 5 sessions will cost $250 without materials, or $300 with materials.   Block bookings do not have to be consecutive weeks (although I prefer if they are)
  • A single session without materials is $60 ($20/hour)
  • A single session including materials is $70 ($20/hour plus a $10 material fee)
  • Materials cost covers tiles, glass, adhesive & grout from my teaching stock
  • Seniors discount does NOT apply to Mosaic classes
  • Unfortunately, I am unable to accept Direct Bank Transfer as a Payment Method for ticketed events.
