1 hour session

In this session, Ali can discuss glues, grouts and substrates with you. What works outside, and what doesn’t.  We’ll work to make sense of that, and more.  You’ll also get a set of reference notes to download and keep … Invaluable!

• Fascinated by mosaics and want to get into it, but confused by all the conflicting information out there?
• Interested in doing a bird bath, but not sure what products to use? Working on rocks?
• What tools should you start out with – that depends!
• Would love to do a class, but can’t find one nearby?
• Want something more personal than an online class?

What you get:

• 1 hour of time with Ali, dedicated to your particular needs
  • This could be the technicalities of a project, issues with your mosaic practice, tool use, colour theory and so on.
• Could be a phone conversation, zoom session or a face-to-face session at Ali’s home in Calwell, ACT.
• Technical notes as applicable.

How it works:

• Email Ali to determine your requirements. Please include your phone number so Ali can arrange a call to discuss your particular needs
• Once you and Ali have agreed the format, timing and topics, you will be sent an invoice
• Cost is $75/hour (incl. GST).
• Payment is via Credit (or Debit) card, or Direct Bank Transfer, prior to the session
• Should the call continue for longer, additional time is chargeable at $15 per quarter hour (billed after the call).

About Ali:

Ali is a Canberra-based artist and the owner of Merlin Mosaica who is an accomplished trainer and presenter. She believes in knowing as much as possible about the products used, and why some products work in some situations but not others. Many of the products we use in mosaics are developed for the building industry and have technical & chemical limitations. To read more about Ali click here

I am not experienced in, nor can I offer advice on, Public Works or undertaking commissions.  I prefer not to give advice regarding design decisions, as this is something you as the artist, should arrive at, in tune with your vision for the work.  However, I am happy to discuss potential colour choices, and assist you in realising your vision.

I can only provide advice of a general nature regarding longevity & suitability of products for particular conditions.
