Merinda Young (Tudor Rose Glass Works Tasmania) introduces Pal Tiya, an affordable, lightweight, durable mould material for kiln-formed glass art. It’s easy to mix, withstands repeated firings, and offers unique, complex designs. - Mixing ratio is approximately 4 parts Pal Tiya to 1 part Water, depending on ambient temperature.
- Shelf Life: 12 months. However, as long as the product is stored in the sealed tub in a dry, cool location and at least 9cm above any concrete flooring, this may be extended
- depends on the humidity of your climate
- if you have a partially used container, we recommend filling the void with bubble wrap or polystyrene off-cuts
- Supplies you will need:
- Aluminium foil
- A Hot Glue Gun (and refills) – readily available from Craft and Hardware outlets
- a selection of Modelling tools. Merlin Mosaica stocks a good range here
- Old kitchen fork
- Wire coat-hangers and stiff cardboard are also useful for creating you armature (the “skeleton” of your piece)
- Plastic bags and old towels for curing your creation

By day 2 you can carve it, grind it and chisel it.
By day 6 it is nearing its full cure (70%).
By day 28 you will have 100% cure which is between 7 and 13 times stronger than cement.
The longer you let it cure the stronger it gets!

I am currently shipping orders on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays.
I operate this business without assistance. Whilst I DO endeavour to ship as soon as I possibly can, I cannot guarantee to ship out the same day as the order is received.
1-10 Silverback mini glass sheets will fit into a STANDARD SMALL post box.
1-5 Hobby Squares will fit into a SMALL glass box.
Larger orders will require one or more LARGE glass boxes. Express postage on these parcels is dependant on your postcode. Please email me for a quote if required.
Postage Unders & Overs:
Some errors may occur in shipping calculations, due to the complexities of combining products in one order. If you have overpaid shipping I will refund, or issue a credit. If you have underpaid, I will invoice for the difference. If you feel the postage charge is incorrect – please contact me by phone (most immediate) or email.
No refunds will be given for glass sheets damaged in transit.
I package carefully. However, damage may occur during transit. Product is shipped entirely at your own risk.
