The Zulu

I’ve started the Zulu Warrior.

He is lifesize, black and beautiful. Just a small problem, he has no head, no arms and no legs. So not only is he ‘armless, he is legless too (and not very bright)!

My plan is to have him wearling a large neckpiece, and not much else.

The neckpiece will be constructed from brass, nickel and black bullet casings of varying sizes, and Tribal Glass and Bone beads. It will extend out across his shoulders, and go fully around the piece (front and back).

Then I will highlight his musculature using a mix of matte and gloss glass tile, and perhaps some beads.

Hi groin is causing a bit of a dilemma. Traditionally, he should be wearing a penile gourd, but I think that may be a little confronting. So some design choices still to be made in that area.

Should be fun!
