No Days Adhesives:

Merlin Mosaica proudly brought the No Days range of Adhesives to Australia, and offer the straight adhesive film, as well as groutless adhesive in black, pewter and clear. I also have the wonderful No Days Heat activated mesh available. Please check out the great product review by Peter Twining of Treasury Road on YouTube.

• This heat set adhesive can be activated in a normal oven, at approx. 120° C. 
• You can even use it on acrylic substrates with no issue. 
• Some of you have queried if the products can be used outside. Well, yes they can!
  • I have made pavers that have been in the Canberra winter with no issues
  • The American wholesaler has even used the Groutless film to make a bird-bath. The only proviso here is that the Pewter and Black films may fade over time in direct sun, but their adhesive integrity is maintained. See below for a blog post from 2013 relating to using them in a bird-bath…

Soudal Fix-All

• These are suitable for all materials & substrates (except PE, PP, bitumen  & PTFE), non-staining, odourless, paintable, suitable for mirror, waterproof & weatherproof.
• When grouted correctly (with a waterproof grout with no cracks or fissures) they are suitable for bee-baths.
• I recommend using the Save-a-Tub cap with your Soudal.  Using a caulking gun, I squeeze twice into a plastic bag, nip the corner off, and use like a piping bag.
• Pre-Cure clean-up is with IsoPropyl Alcohol.
• You can remove cured product with this Sealer Remover
• Black (Hi-Tack) – Super sticky, super strong – up to 320kg holding power per 10sq.cm
• Grey and White Fix-all Flexi – White is great under translucent glass on a solid substrate.
• Crystal Fix-all Flexi – sold in some areas as Soudal T-Rex

Prep Multi-Use Adhesive

• Australian made, Prep has been around for 20 years, and is used by tilers.
• Prep Multi-Use Adhesive is a styrene-based all-purpose adhesive, originally designed to replace PVA adhesives. 
• Environmentally friendly, Bio-degradable
• Non-toxic, non-carcinogenic
• Dries quickly – dries clear
• Non-flammable
• Completely soluble in water
• High water resistance once cured
• It is quite liquid (slightly thicker than PVA), but unlike PVA glues (such as Weldbond), won’t re-liquefy once cured, so is suitable for outside use.
• No expiration date – lasts forever!
• Pre-Cure clean-up is with water (NOTE: Just because the glue is dry, doesn’t mean it is cured – Full Cure is reached after 48 hours)
• You can remove cured product with Acetone – commonly found in Nail Varnish Remover

Merlin Mosaica also stocks Apoxie Sculpt, Apoxie Clay and the AVES Safety Solvent. This is wonderful for adhering beads and other embellishments that may get lost in grout, or for making your own 3D embellishments, that can be used outdoors. Easily coloured with Oil Paint (use sparingly) Dries rock hard!

Cement-Based Adhesive

Merlin Mosaica’s Cement Based Adhesive (and latex additive) are both Australian made.  The Adhesive is a polymer modified, cement-based tile adhesive designed for internal and external applications.  Can be used for ceramic, porcelain and glass.  Our cement adhesive is fully submersible, and is therefore suitable for use in bee- and bird-baths.

• Non Slumping
• CS Improved adhesion
• S2 Flexible – for normal applications, no latex additive is required, only water/
• Suitable for use on Concrete render, rendered brick work, plaster board, or fibre cement (Thermasheet etc.)
• works with glass when mixed with water
• Bright white colour
• Mix with approx. 360-400 mls water per kilo dry product
  • Use water; OR
  • 1 part additive  with 2 parts water – recommended for submersible, high-traffic or vulnerable (e.g. edges) situations for added strength
  • mix to a creamy consistency, with no lumps
  • Allow mix to stand for 3 mins
  • Re-mix prior to use.

• For use with a direct laying method, I recommend the ‘baggie” system, or direct buttering of the substrate
• May be coloured with Merlin Mosaica pigments
• To clean cured adhesive off tiles, apply a mix of water (with a small amount of detergent added) with an old toothbrush, rub gently.

Concentrated Acrylic Additive

• Designed to be used in conjunction with our Cement Adhesive in high-traffic areas.
• Resultant mix should be laid in smaller areas (1m²) with a notched trowel.
• Will reduce open time of the adhesive.
• Can be used as a Grout Additive to increase flexibility and strength.
