Working Surfaces

This isn’t normally thought of as a safety issue, BUT it kinda is.
How many of us have unthinkingly, brushed glass shards off our work surface with our hands, only to get heaps of glass splinters – ouch!
So – clear off your surface with a small hand-held vacuum, or a glass brush – never your hands!
It pays to think carefully when setting up your workspace. Glass needs a flat surface, and one with some give or bounce certainly helps to run a score, if you are cutting glass sheets.
I use a Waffle grid – a polycarbonate gridded surface (grid side UP). The shards drop into the gird, and you can upend them into the bin at the end of your cutting session. They clip together, so you can have as large a work surface as you need.
Waffle grids are available on my website here.
